I finished this book today, and the ending was unbelievable!!! I loved it so much.  The protagonist goes through so much to regain her daughter.  In the end, she is at her own parents' house about to sleep.  Her mind momentarily races with the thoughts of everything that could go wrong.  Then the narrator observes:

Axo told me about this a while back, but I finally had a second to look it up this morning.  Women around the world should boycott ANTP just for conceiving of this idea.  I would've walked off the set if I had been asked to do something that so clearly glamorized violence against women.

I just saw Water tonight.  If you are a human being alive on this earth, you must see this film.  I am so grateful to Deepa Mehta for making it, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to have watched it.  It's one of the most perfect movies I've ever seen, and I personally feel like it is so, SO important.
